Revolutionary Punjabi Poet Pash/Paash

Revolutionary Punjabi Poet Pash/Paash is one of the renownend writer in Punjabi Literature. Pash is the pen name, full name is Avtar Singh Sandhu.
Pash was born on September 9,1950 in village Talwandi Salem of district Jalandhar.
Under the influence of Naxalite Movement Pash started to pen down left wing views in revolutionary poetry. Revolutionary Punjabi Poems are also written by Sant Ram Udasi and Lal Singh Dil. These revolutionary poets are also called Neo-Progressive poets.
Revolutionary poetry books by Pash are LOH KATHA, UDDADE BAZAN MAGAR, SAADE SAMIAN VICH, KHILRE HOEY VARKEY. Pash was murdered on March 23,1988.
In the syllabus of Punjabi Literature for UPSC, three poets are mentioned under the neo-progressive: Pash, Jagtar, Surjeet Patar
