Natak or Drama

The stories, novels and other literature forms are written to be read by the readers. The Play is written to be performed it in the theater. So Play is the special genre of literature which is not only literature but also attached with the theater. A Play gets its full meaning when it is played.
In Punjabi and Hindi languages Play is called Natak or Drama.
The translation of ‘Literature’ in Punjabi language is SAHIT (ਸਾਹਿਤ). Sahit means a write up or oral creation which is concerned with culture of the people, which favours the welfare of the people and which is presented in a beautiful way(asthetic). Punjabi Sahit or Punjabi Literature also presents the contemporary issues related to Punjabi Culture. This is done in the best way through Dramas.
