ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਸਾਹਿਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਧਨੀ ਰਾਮ ਚਾਤਿ੍ਰਕ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਰਿਸ ਸ਼ਾਹ ਦਾ ਵਾਰਿਸ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕਵੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਆਮ ਭਾਵਨਾਵਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਅਗਾਂਹ ਵਿਗਿਆਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਰਥਿਕਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਕਵਿਤਾ ‘ਚ ਪਰੋ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਜਲ ਚੱਕਰ (water cycle) ਨੂੰ ਕਵਿਤਾ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਕਵੀ ਚਾਤਿ੍ਰਕ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਇਹ ਰਚਨ ਕਾਬਿਲ-ਏ-ਤਾਰੀਫ਼ ਹੈ।
